Amid growing polarization, most Californians want to see stronger civics courses for youth

The poll covered a range of statewide issues and was conducted by California 100, a statewide initiative aiming to set a vision for the state’s next century. Led by a commission of researchers and stakeholders, the initiative is “incubated” at Stanford University and the University of California.

“It's almost like a town hall, where people are engaged in meaningful conversation with each other, armed with information about the particular topic, but also arguments for and against these ideas,” said Karthick Ramakrishnan, California 100’s executive director.
