Yiwang Li

My name is Yiwang Li. I am a fourth-year PhD student in Education Policy Analysis and Leadership at UCR. Before coming to UCR, I did my BS in Education and Public Policy at Penn State. I worked for the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) as an analyst, where I was responsible for processing and analyzing teacher evaluation data.

My academic work has been focused on education policy evaluation, with particular interests in the teacher labor market and predicting college-related outcomes using machine learning techniques. I am aspired to use data-driven researches to improve education policies and programs.

I genuinely enjoy my work, and I hope to make a fruitful career out of shifting “problems” into “opportunities” for disadvantaged students. I believe this is where my aspiration aligns with the mission of CSI.
